Sustainability Matters’ Making Trash Bloom project - native pollinator and wildlife habitat at landfills - is coming to Fairfax County! Join us and Fairfax Department of Public Works to seed Phase 1 of Making Trash Bloom Fairfax and learn about the project and future plans.
Sustainably sourced lunch (with a Halloween theme) will be served by Making Trash Bloom's “Official Culinary Sponsor”, Friendly City Food Co-op. Costumes are optional but encouraged!
Because of space restrictions, attendance at this event is limited to guests invited through our community partners, as well as Sustainability Matters members and volunteers (join us as a member, if you haven’t already!). Registration is required. Please dress appropriately to be outdoors at the landfill and bring your own chair.
Making Trash Bloom Fairfax is funded by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, the Chesapeake Bay Trust, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. We're deeply grateful for their generosity, imagination, and insights as we build the Making Trash Bloom project and our Northern Virginia programs.
