Greener than Grass: edible landscaping in small spaces

Potted garden plants on either side of walkway behind home

You don't need acres for an edible garden. From Sustainability Matters' Sonia Zamborsky, learn how to grow your own food in small spaces: containers, raised beds, or that sunny patch by your front door. Even a postage stamp-sized yard or balcony can become an edible oasis for you and your family to enjoy. We'll cover easy veggies & herbs, creative solutions for vertical growing, drought-tolerant options to withstand the fiercest summer weather, and pollinator-friendly companion plants.

Also, don’t miss the first in the Greener than Grass (Small Spaces) series, Native Gardens for Small Spaces!

The Greener than Grass (Small Spaces) series is a public education initiative connected to Sustainability Matters' Making Trash Bloom project in Fairfax County (VA), a demonstration native meadow at the I-66 landfill, and is funded by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia. Read more about the Fairfax Making Trash Bloom site here or check out a video of the Making Trash Bloom project's early impact.

This will be a virtual workshop, with time for Q & A. It's free, but space is limited, and registration is required.

Upon registering, you will be emailed a link to the online event page, through which you can access the Zoom webinar once the event starts. Please make sure you receive the link, and contact us if you have any questions. We cannot guarantee to be available for tech/Zoom problems on the day of the event, so we suggest registering well in advance!

We'll also sign you up for Sustainability Matters' email list. We never sell your info, and you may unsubscribe at any time.
